Blender is the best way. Bone scaling usually doesn't come out properly or in a way that looks normal/accurate, So sculpting is absolutely the way to go.

i've looked everywhere for a fix for my specific issue, but it keeps importing with empty Parameters for the Light Control. Using MA imports it fine, sure, but it just doesn't do anything. Check the ENTIRE Discord for a similar issue and found none. No idea what to do now

click on the fbx of the model, you will see milltina inport <--- that will popup in the inspector settings and enable Leagacy blend shape mormals same place you make the model; humanoid

try vrcfury blendshape optimizer and vcc quest tools texture cruncher

Also to clarify, I have only been using 2019.4.31f unity and not 2022. It seems it is also uploading my image at a 800 x 600 resolution too along with its terrible compression which makes no sense to me and also turns it out far worse. I've been dealing with this problem for months now and seriously have no idea what the problem is.

For anyone currently having trouble setting up PCSS: Both VRCFury and NDMF (required for Modular Avatar) currently break PCSS when entering play mode/uploading. This is likely due to something with how they optimize the avatar, and seeing how both Fury and NDMF break PCSS, and trying older version combinations of all of them that I know worked previously, it's likely a Unity or VRCSDK update that actually borked it. The PCSS dev has the issue with Fury in the known issues on his discord but no mention of MA/NDMF. I did make a post in the Discord today about NDMF so that may get added to the known issues. I'm not sure if he's actually trying to fix it since apparently Fury has been breaking PCSS since at least January, seeing how the known issues post was from 2/4/25. Not sure when NDMF became an issue, if at the same time or more recently. Fury/NDMF devs can't fix it on their end since this is definitely an issue with PCSS itself.
