A user with a high reputation scammed me
-
Hello everyone, as the title says, a user with an excellent reputation scammed me.
The user is NobodyCaresBuddy, level 7 with 184 reputation points.
A few days ago, I saw him offering to rip avatars in exchange for other avatars to buy or trade. I contacted him, asked him if he could copy one, and he agreed.
Today, he told me that the avatar was ready and fully functional, so I purchased what he had asked for and uploaded it to him. Then, suddenly, he accused me of being part of some βarc server,β refused to download the Unity scene, and claimed that it was fake.
He was calm before, so I suspect he planned to scam me once I sent him the avatar.
However, this is strange behavior for someone with that reputation.
I can easily prove that I purchased the avatar (I have the purchase receipt, the avatar in the game, and I can show the project in screen sharing on Discord), so I have the avatar and can prove it in any way.
I also sent him proof of purchase, but he didn't respond.
Maybe it's a little early to write, but since this has never happened to me before, I don't know if the site will notify me if it has blocked me, and I don't want to wait for nothing.
I also lost 2 reputation points exactly when this happened, so it's likely that they want to take them all away over time (or so I think).
I can provide screenshots of our conversation if necessary and anything else.
Can any mod help resolve this or take action if he really intended to scam me?
I trusted him because of his high reputation, but maybe that was a mistake.Edit: after my messages in which I tried to show him that I really bought the avatar, he left the chat. I think this is clear proof that he wanted to scam me from the start.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think it's quite serious that a user with such a high reputation can do this and get away with it.
I hope some admin can take care of the situation...
He has also changed his name; he is now called TheOne1883.
He changes his name every time; that's how he does it. He probably saw this post. I invite some administrators to write to me privately so that I can tell you the name he is using at the moment so that you can ban him.Edit 2: Now he's called 3435873 and he keeps leaving chats, now he's even disabled messages. Can someone kindly ban him? I'd say it's clear that he's a scammer.
Edit 3:Clown, I know you're reading this post. You change your name every time I update what you call yourself. Do you enjoy scamming people like this? With this bullshit about the ark server that probably doesn't even exist. It's absurd that no one has ever banned you, and it's absurd that you can constantly change your name to avoid being banned.... Now you're called: i got many acc
I can keep going like this as long as you want, just give me what I paid for and let's end this.Edit 4: now he called: 234687432

@Barbarco That's the same guy who scammed me, also went by yokon64. There the reason I rip for free so no one else gets scammed. They have also scammed a few others but no sure who else. I tried to say something about him scamming me when i was lower rep but no one helped me, glad you where able to do something about it.

@Kanin I think the problem is that the moderators rightly can't see everything; their profiles will be pretty clogged up.
To resolve the situation, I had to send a direct message to one of them.
I don't know if that scammer has been completely eradicated or if he has other profiles out there, but at least we've taken down some of his accounts.
Better than nothing.
