Question about reputation

How does the rep work? I have noticed my rep has gone down. I don't know what I have done, I haven't been online for 8 days and I come back, just to browse and noticed, my rep has gone from User down to Flagged, I posted a gift the other day, it got approved then went down again.

The reason why is because your post here was downvoted twice due to the remark you made, from what it looks like.
