    I've seen some people in threads mentioning that they've been banned using this method of ripping and others saying they've had no issues - is it safe to open and upload avatars you've copied from your cache and exported using assetripper if you only use them privately or by yourself?       I rip from cache very often and have had no issues with it. I will point out that I manually repair avatars instead of hotswapping, which could decrease ban chances. You should be fine if the avatar isn't before 2019 unity
