How can I convert a VRCA file to being usable in Blender?
-
I'm extremely unfamiliar with Unity, but unfortunately for me every single tutorial I find is using Unity to convert the files- am I screwed? Is there anyone that would be willing to do it for me? Any answers would be greatly appreciated

if you have the original unitypackage of the model it will make things easier
as sometimes they include an fbx which can be opened in blender
or the avatar can be exported as an fbx using blender.
if not you may have to use something like assetripper: https://github.com/AssetRipper/AssetRipper
can't remember exactly but you may be able to convert to fbx using that, if not you can use it to dump the entire unity project file folder and drop that in unity and then try the above for an fbx -
Now I will say, with certain models it fucks it up a little bit but normally it's fine. There's a thing for unity called Fbx exporter. So basically to make it work you need to make a prefab in the hierarchy but remove all physbones, colliders, particles, constraints, descriptor. Practically everything, except the mesh obviously. I think maybe you're supposed to keep the animator with the avatar rig thing in it. Sorry if this wasn't very clear.
