    Hi Devs/Admins/Mods/Members/Lurkers!

The main theme of this topic is, that the bump and +1 posts are getting out of hand with each passing day.

And it would be nice to get some sort of solution for it.

Would it be possible to make bumping a topic postless? For example, adding a "Bump" button, that has a 20-hour cooldown / topic and a +1 (I'm looking for this too!) counter button?
Obviously, commenting on the topic will bump it, but writing something just to bump it should get downvoted, thus getting negative karma / reputation, call it whatever you want.
On the other hand, if the comment is constructive, users can give positive karma/reps.

It's getting more and more time-consuming to scroll through endless bumps and +1s.

It would be nice to hear other opinions as well.

A bump button sounds like a nice idea though I wonder how it should go. would you yourself have a timed limit on the bump button for a post or would the cooldown time be applied to everyone? not sure if this makes total sense

On the topic of a shared cooldown, it might help manage people from bumping constantly but it might seem a little unfair and unhelpful in some cases. I do sometimes see people bump a post after it had already been bumped minutes or an hour ago and I thought maybe like an interest button could be added so people can see who's interested in the post without having to bump it out of interest but then again there's always the bell button for notifications on the post so I think that should be enough for an interest button already?

Also I don't think downvoting bump posts does any good whatsoever it doesn't seem like something we should do. It feels out of reason and place to just downvote a post that just says bump.

Yeah, shared cooldown might be a bit too much, but there should be a set limit.
I'm sure some of the original requesters would spam the bump button without break.

@Wizkid i don’t think that’s necessary, maybe instead of punishing people for boosting their topics in hope to get more recognition and help, there could just be a system to hide keywords so you don’t have to do endless scrolling
