I need to buy another portable SSD sometime this weekend myself, between storing my stuff locally (storing stuff online has fucked me over on more than one occasion where the hosting service made my files inaccessible or unreadable after upgrading their shit without warning or compensation) and downloading stable diffusion models I only have less than 20GB of storage left...

Do not ask me to reupload something if you've contributed nothing to the site.

I bought a 12 TB HDD which i routinely have to offload stuff onto. I try to keep stuff organized with popular avi makers having dedicated folders and each avi within has their associated clothes/hair/acc. assets. But I only organize stuff from time to time so i have several unsorted folders. But i try to name stuff appropriately when i dl with avi names attached to items so i can quickly search them and dump them in relevant folder. But sometimes i forget or an item has a misspelling so it ends up getting lost.

How do you guys deal with assets taking up too much space on your pc? Got suggested uploading to Mega and Drive, but making gmail accounts requires you to use a phone number now..

            @Damnation I buy a new 2 tb hard drive

My drops are only up for 5 days.

Don't ask me to reupload something if I look at your profile and you contributed nothing to the site. Nothing includes items that you got from someone else are are just using to leech more paid items.

if you have an apple device and make a turkish account on it, you can have mega at a very low price
like the 8TB option can be as low as 5$ per month
i use the 200GB now has a test and it's been fairly ok

So I use a program called Eagle (Preview of my Selestia WIP archive)

It really helps me organize files and folders out and I can add notes, and links to files. Soo what I'll tend to do is load in the preview + archive together, Tag them, link the web page, and make any notes ie; version numbers.

To save on actual space I unpack most archives You'll download and clean up any unnecessary files.
ie; License documents, TOS/Eula type materials and redundant previews.
I'll then use 7zip (with these settings) to compress the folder.

In some cases this has saved me literal GBs for a singular outfit. PSDs and PNGs notably can be compressed a lot with this method so if you have a lot in your package It's common to see 100-300mbs less usage.

So, whats the cost of this then? Well time. You really need to go through 1 by 1 unpacking, cleaning junk, and re-packing. Some packs might see some compression gain If you double-pack (ie; 7zipping a .rar or .zip file) but Your kinda just tossing your trash under the bed at that point.

I have a collection of nearly 180GBs of Selestia stuff sent to me by a friend. Of Minus the duplicate files, It was around 156gb. While this is a WIP cleaning, This collection has dropped down to 110gbs with my process.

Well this is likely way too much work for most but if you want a free way to get extra space, I'd say it's fair to note you could cut out about 30% of your archive's space by re-packing into 7zip.

Actively archiving and hoarding Shinano assets...

The significant importance of properly cleaning, unpacking, and Re-packing assets You plan to hoard.
                    alt text

                    Before

                    • 138.11 GB
                    • 1,834 files

                    After

                    • 61.2 GB
                    • 1291

To be fair, This also counted duplicate files and cutting out a lot of extra files that are unnecessary. Such as license notes.

I've never heard of this happening, but I use a free cloud service that permits 1TB outright, up to 3TB free but conditionally, and another 1TB paid with extra perks. Never had a problem with an extra few TB in my back pocket, Free to DM further
