still a new user! (FACS questions and help)

hi, so if i use FACS will i get banned? and if so are there any alternatives? i have a few avatars i wanna get my hands on, but cant due to them bring private or not related to the og creator, so i went to FACS. but i hear that using it can get me banned on vrchat, is this true and if not, how exactly do i use it?

I don't know for sure whether you'll get banned or not. It probably depends on the avatar's ID since it's not unusual to see different people uploading their own versions of the same avatars. Many can be purchased, are from games or can be found free from various places, after all. As for how it works though, I'm pretty sure you need both ARC and FACS to get a usable avatar. From the tutorials I've seen (there are a few on youtube and their github has a guide) FACS is for getting the avatars you extract with ARC into Unity. From there, Unity has a built-in option for exporting the file as an fbx so you can make any adjustments you may want in Blender, though you'll have to install it in the package manager.

Okay... From experience with FACS It won't get you banned if you aren't "hotswapping" I myself haven't tried it before, but other than that it should be fine if you're ripping the vrca and extracting it. ALWAYS!!!! be cautious when ripping, uploading, or doing ANYTHING with any type of ripped avatar. Hope this helps! Have a great night or day!
