LF Help with a head swap project!
-
Hi! I wanted to figure out how to do a headswap and I'm having quite a bit of trouble, I just can't figure it out! It's having some armature issues I think. Its Bassie v2 by candycreaturez and bonfie by cryptiacurves. If someone could just help me get it working that would be lovely! I will send links to the unity file and the blender file

@doll.zip That's exactly what I meant, and what I thought. a) did you make the bones/armature yourself? and b) if you hit configure, is the bone named LegL attached beneath the bone Hips?

U should look at Kimera Maker should help
@Royal_RAGE oo that does look helpful! Does it only work with booth models?
-
@Nightveil I'm not gonna give up!!!! If I can't do it I might ask a few of my friends for help!

@Rando I didn't do any of this, I thought about maybe merging the armatures but I wasn't quite sure if I should, so maybe it having two is the issue. Its using the og bonfie armature and the og bassie armature. Should I try that?
@doll.zip With this new information, no, you should not do that. Unity is picky and a pain in a number of ways, one being you can only have one of each bone named that bone. Since bonfie body, wipe out the other armature from head to hips to toe.L.3_end
If something like hair is desired to swish, that's another story. If not, gut it completely -

I looked at the blender file a bit more, you should just take the base bones from bonfie, and put back all the bones for bassies head, it would be hard to reput the body or put the bones together, i could MAYBE do this for you if i have free time if you have some issues

@blushieeeieie Like decapitating both skeletons at the neck and spine joint, then taking the appropriate piece of each?

@blushieeeieie I can try my best, so would I delete bonfies head bones and bassies body bones, then merge the armatures? Or is it more complicated than that

@doll.zip In practice its probably a little more complicated, but you do have the idea yes. Delete bonfie's Neck bone specifically, and everything parented to that (like head), then delete bassie's Spine bone specifically (potentially needing Hips too afterwards) and you should be good to merge them before adjusting neck and head
I will say, there's a way to delete, and a way to sever. I don't recall which is which, but a heads up that you may need to dig through that blur of wording
