Vrmodels has been hacked or putting viruses in assests?
-
idk where to ask this but I had a friend tell me that vrmodels was flagged with a virus when getting an asset from there.
ive used it many times before with no issue nor scare but I am being watchful of it-Has anyone else encounter this recently or know more of the situation? cause i want to get stuff from there but im a lil worried (been already hacked and dont want to deal with that loss again ~w~")

I don’t have concrete evidence to prove this, but there are rumors that malware may be found in the files.
Here’s a tool to scan for malware in .unitypackage files intended for VRChat. Always use this tool to scan these types of files before you even load them into Unity: https://forum.ripper.store/post/1745792
Speaking of internet security in general, avoid websites with a bad reputation; always use a properly configured uBlock Origin, keep your browser up to date (and with enhanced security settings—I recommend using Hardened Firefox; do an online search on how to get it), and always avoid downloads that don’t match the download information provided on the website itself.
I also recommend reading the tutorials on this very site.
