hmmmm... can't lock any materials at all unsure of how to fix. can't find any info on it online

I had the same thing and it worked for me
if nothing works i would check on fresh project then just drag essential prefabs to it
you literally open two projects and just drag prefabs from to another, ripping stealing and having huge library means your projects often collapses into black hole of errors after some time, thats how i always fix it.
unsure of how to fix.
