@VexinTenoa You posted 76 looking for posts without any links and some of which didn't have any pictures either, only recently have you started posting ones with actual links, 4 to be specific (these don't count your deleted posts)(I think this also explains why your reputation is in the minus, instead of people just being haters) I would say your experience is vastly different to a normal user's, since most post with links and pictures instead of a vague description. These people do make it easier to find stuff, of course, but seeing if something has been found or not is still not the easiest through all the posts especially when people are still bumping for another item (in cases where there are multiple items in a post and only 1-2 has been found) The bumping itself isn't the problem since that helps people discover the post and potentially send the item people are looking for
@Talias Also the other person who mentioned searching via image: 1. That's pretty hard to program, even google has issues with it still 2. A lot of items have multiple pictures and people might post different ones of the same thing 3. Even different cropping or quality can make a program not recognize 2 images as the same thing, it would be time wasted to try making it work -
@TheReGodfather I don't even know who you are, and no one has time to stalk someone who spends most of their time initiating petty arguments against everyone, if what SpookyVersace said about you is true. I just saw @'s to a name that wasn't present in the thread and a username going by "A Former User" in the thread and assumed it was suspended.

@Dexizuki Ok I was talking about a different group of people making it their life mission to going through my profile and downvote me on every post including contributions but blowoff king. This is a grade S level concerted effort of people that got a major hard on for me if this had 4 upvotes and seems someone just had to vote it back down. Now for someone that "dosen't" know me, you seem to got a mouthful to say.
Yo @SpookyVersace who's been mass downvoting me?
-
@TheReGodfather its showing as downvote? wut? but i upvoted lul
-
@salieri Indeed you did lol. So did three other people. but it seems 4 other "people" cough trash accounts voted it down for no reason. Those do not show.
-
oh rip, that's some nonsense drama, hella childish of them
-
show downvotes and watch the world burn even more yeeeee, may chaos take the world!
This is a joke for obvious reasons btw, for those who can't tell this is sarcasm.

@TheReGodfather I see, you don't like reading more than a few sentences. Say no more, I got ya fam:
Jokes aside, you're overthinking it a bit.

Not exactly related to the op topic but i think it might be an idea that when new users join they get an automatic message informing them to use the search function first before making a LF post. And explaining how to use the search function effectively such as toggling the Search In tab down to "Titles and Posts" (this should be the default imo). And not only searching for the item by it's english name but by it's japanese kana and kanji. As well as search using the booth page url or just the end number string eg. 4509369. as well as searching using the booth page store name. I know myself and a few others have told new users to use the search function when seeing duplicate posts. but it still keeps happening. I know it will still happen even with an automatic message, but it might help cut it down. Also a little explainer showing how to post pictures as some new users seem to have trouble with that, as posting a picture along with a post gives it a better chance of not being ignored.
-
I'm not sure if its already been said because this thread has gotten a bit cluttered. But would it be possible to maybe make a system where we could have a button to request to have our LF post moved to the found section once the item(s) have been found? or to just be able to move the posts ourselves to a new topic.
-
@eiron Thanks for this suggestion. Its noted! While I can't confirm whether or not we'll implement it, we will certainly work towards making search more user-friendly. Also, we understand that some new users may need help navigating the forums. We'll try to find a way to explain some things about the forums to new users. However, we feel that most new users may just skip this information.
@Floralias We're currently working on a feature that's similar to what you described. The aim of the feature is to enable users to mark their topics as solved and also pin links that contain the avatar or asset they were looking for.
-
@SpookyVersace Glad to hear you guys like these ideas! I also think it could be a good idea to remind new users, even if it's just a pinned topic that can't accept replies in the looking for section. I also would love to make it easier on the admins so they don't have to look for solved topics themselves.
Separately, I think deleting topics is still relevant imo. I've done it when a topic had little interest over a long period of time (a few months with less than 3 others interested for example) or I ended up purchasing the asset myself and I have sent messages to the users who were interested. The ability to delete topics may also get someone out of trouble if a creator asks them to take it down. Not everyone deletes topics for the same reason I do though, so I can understand the debate on allowing deletion or not.
