    https://github.com/vosd04/vrcw-launcher

VRCW Launcher – a tiny native launcher for .vrcw files (Windows, open source)

I got tired of dragging world files onto a .bat every time I wanted to test something, so I built a proper little launcher for it.

Give it a .vrcw file and it does the rest:

    • finds your Steam copy of VRChat automatically
    • generates a random room id
    • starts VRChat with the same arguments the SDK's Build & Test uses (--url=create?roomId=...&hidden=true&name=BuildAndRun&url=file:///... plus --watch-worlds --watch-avatars)
    • closes itself once the game is running, unless you'd rather it stays open

    What you get:

    • Pick a world, drag and drop it, drag it onto the exe, or just double-click a .vrcw
    • Remembers recently used worlds
    • Optional per-user .vrcw file association (no administrator rights needed)
    • The Launch button only lights up when both a world and VRChat are found
    • Follows the Windows light/dark theme and your system accent colour
    • English and Simplified Chinese, chosen from your Windows display language

Technical bits: C++ and the Win32 API only. No Electron, no Qt, no .NET, no Python. One self-contained exe of about 360 KB with the C runtime linked in, so you download it and run it. Per-monitor DPI aware, resizable window, no installer.

Heads up: this is a vibe-coded project. I designed the behaviour, the layout and the details, and an AI wrote essentially all of the code — I drove it, tested it and fixed what broke. So treat it as a small, opinionated tool rather than a polished suite. Bug reports and suggestions are very welcome.
