VRmodels unsafe & down?

long story short, a VRModel SysAdmin decided to fuck things up as far as i understand and deleted every single file off the server entirely, so now the Owner of VRmodel is in a serious down mindfuck on what to do and if things are even worth rebuilding from the ground up after many years of service. hope this clears up things.

Well that. A bit about the situation. Our sysadmin is, of course, quite the klutz. He messed up with security, even though he claimed he was working on improving it. But in the end, it turned out to be the exact opposite — they hacked in and simply deleted all the files from all the servers. After seeing that, I laughed at our sysadmin for a long time.T
o be honest, the files can be recovered. But it will take a lot of time and will be very tedious. I’m not even sure whether it’s worth taking on. And I’m not sure we’ll be able to recover everything at all.
There is a backup of the main website, as well as the file server. However, it’s not the most up‑to‑date one and isn’t from the current date (the beginning of the month). But the situation with the file server is exactly the opposite — it’s in a deplorable state. And the backup there was made a long time ago. After all, the volumes there are very large in TB.
So far, the situation is as follows:Everything has been deleted. All files. The system administrator was sent packing and kicked out of the team. Well, for now I’ve given up and thrown in the towel.I don’t even see the point in doing anything. I’m thinking of just closing the project and not bothering with it. After all, even the working project caused a lot of headaches. In any case, I’ll be thinking about this until evening. If I don’t decide to restore everything, we’ll just abandon the project. That’s how things stand.

honestly thats fine, the staff was incredibly unhelpful, outright rude.. and confusingly banning people,labeling,etc?
website was poorly managed overall, they had plenty of time to fix it but couldn't recognize that

would be nice to have an easier to go through catalogue baked in. while i appreciate the work that goes into upkeeping things like mega threads they can take a while to go through when your looking for 1 thing

if a website like vrm or even vrm itself comes back, maybe this time their mods can be something other than sensitive losers?

I'm not too bothered as ripperstore has better, nicer mods and upkeeping, but it does kinda suck that the easy catalogue site is gone. I'm happy the shitty mods are upset though, they had a massive ego and would tell people they were stupid for not knowing how to upload avatars that were posted with GONSO on them

@anonymous_001 pls don’t just give up a lot of really do appreciate vrmodels especially people who barely knew how to upload but was taught because of vrmodels
