A very simple Gonso-removal method

@vessel for me the prefab was there but it only appeared as a big black box. In the hierarchy, it shows the model's stuff and physbones. Everything shows up as that box in the assets as well

I'm wondering what would happen if someone tried to upload an avatar with Gonso and not have a key? (this is my first time heariing somethinglike this exists and i'm curious)

So someone I used to talk too figured out a way to remove gonso without the use of the key. However I stopped talking to them due to very good reasons and never found out how they did it. Would anyone here have an idea on how they figured this out as I want to try it for myself.

@Carla Since 7/31/2025, Myself and @vessel have stopped working on finding ways to remove Gonso from avatars. (Mostly due to Vessels veryyyy longggg vacation away from the internet and our blacklists on Gonso) Although, others are free to find ways and methods, for the most part this project has come to a closing on our end.

Here's a simple way to remove the Gonso system for posts here and etc
Last updated - 4/22/2025
Doesnt seem like it'll be patched since it's using the VRChat SDK against Gonso's shitty system
SDK Version (not sure if it matters)
REQUIREMENTS
A working license key for the avatar that's never been used
A HWID spoofer and VPN (Not required for the first time)
A throwaway VRChat account with New User or above (Not required for the first time)
A throwaway Discord account (Not required for the first time)
TUTORIAL
Open Unity and import the avatar you'd like to remove the system for
Open task manager and select unity (do NOT end the task yet)
Go to the Gonso panel and insert the license key and press Validate
The avatar will spawn in now, go to the VRChat SDK panel and login
Name the avatar whatever you want, and press "Build and publish"
Go to task manager and wait for the bar in unity to say this
Right as it does, end the unity task in task manager (Example video)
Open Unity back up, if you did everything correctly a prefab of the avatar will appear in Unity
Delete the Gonso folder and GonsoLicense.dll in your unity project
Optional steps
Open the Prefab, in the prefab will be the baked menus, parameters, etc
Double click on them and move all of them to a different folder (for organization)
Rename the prefab and move the prefab into the folder
Export the FBX using Unity's FBX exporter in the package manager
Ending notes
Congrats! You've just removed Gonso from the avatar's package and are free to export it.
Just to note, if you post it on Ripperstore or anywhere else you will most likely be banned
from using the Gonso system on your pc unless you use a hwid spoofer, vpn, and throwaway account.If this does happen, next time you use Gonso it'll say this.
Charge the money back with your bank as the key will be permanently banned.Don't support somebody who logs all their customers information lol

But will this method only work on the avatar prefab which you tried to upload or on all prefabs in the scene?
