Modify booth avatar and clothes asset
-
Hi, I’m just getting started and I’m trying to figure out how to put clothes from Booth avatar A onto my Booth avatar B. I understand that Blender is needed to adjust the clothes a bit, but I’m not sure what steps to take after that. I’ve been looking around but couldn’t find any tutorials on this. Any tips on how to properly modify clothes would be greatly appreciated, especially since the model I’m working on doesn’t have many assets to begin with

Providing the model names would be super helpful! But I think this tool might be able to help you. I have never personally used it but it's meant to do exactly what you're asking to do. But I am not sure if both of your models have a preset for fitting.

Oh, that's pretty simple. Here is a simple guide.
Blender:
- First make your clothes fit the model assuming it doesn't already
- Either delete the model the clothes are attached to, or don't, up to you.
- Keep all bones, or delete the ones you don't need. Example: Head if no hat, feet if no shoes, etc
Unity
-
Put the FBX of the clothes into your asset folder
-
Drag and drop it into the scene.
-
Place it over your model like you would with any item
-Adjust it accordingly if needed.
-Go into the hierarchy -
Right click the clothes, go into "Prefab" and click on "Unpack" NOT "Unpack completely"
-
Open the unpacked prefab, find your armature.
-
Drag and drop each bone into the same bone/armature of the model you want to wear the clothes. (Ex: Hips = Pelvis) ((If they do not have the same name, that is perfectly fine. Just know where they go))
-
You do that for every bone you need that affects the clothes. After that it should be done.
If this explanation didn't help. I have some videos I used when I needed help.

If you're still having trouble I reccomend using this tool in Unity.

I actually bought this myself and it works wonders. I wouldn't mind giving it to you if needed.
