whew, thought I lost access to my account but I eventually found the right email address for my password recovery
I will be on hiatus for a time. My computer is on it's last legs with often dozens of hard shutdowns a day, so I've been focusing on things I get paid for to make as much money as possible to go towards replacing parts when it does finally go kaput for the last time
If anyone has blender and unity skills and wants to pick this project up from me, let me know. If nobody with the skills for this feels like taking over, I will eventually pick this back up when things are in a better state for me - life's been throwing me curve-ball after curve-ball lately but there's always an end to the curve-balls eventually.
And no, the files are not at risk of being lost, I've made off-site backups of all of my projects

@Sirlockinbottom Whoops, sorry. I just picked the first site from the thread on file hosts that was in English w/ no account requirement

@Volttekka Unfortunately I wasn't able to retrieve the textures from the mod file
eta: it's probably possible, but I am not experienced with Halo modding tools as I only vaguely knew about them existing prior to getting the model from the mod

I know there's a method where you could get the assets from .map files for halo reach from steam workshop (like using Reclaimer). So that could be worth looking into to get the textures.
If not, recreating the textures with all the references and UV map is possible.
Either way, once I get home I'll start continuing on the project.

@HimaKira With regards to the UV, like the rest of the model (and the textures, if you look in-game with the mod they're much lower res than the OG), I suspect it was simplified during the port to the Halo mod. One of the things I planned on doing was creating a new UV for the model and re-making the textures with VRChat and specifically Poiyomi in mind

@Sirlockinbottom Yes. Further up in the thread, you can see someone linked a (now deleted) Halo mod that had the model in it. I pulled the model from that mod using some modding tools

Hey guys I am on my laptop I download the model and I went on unity put the model on unity and upload the materials in and also I put the colors in the materials and I did some screenshots and just want to let you know note the materials are just one solid color this is just like a demo and I'll send you guys the link of the screenshots of the model and here's the link plus I love projects 🫡
