Unity to Blender
-
Hi! So I finished making my avatar on unity, but I want to try learning how to optimize my avatar so that it's quest compaitable too. However, I don't know how to import my avatar into blender. I tried to install cat plugin and it didn't work (I'm using the newest updated blender too). So, since that didn't work I tried to watch a video and they said to get the FBX of the avatar and then import it and I don't know how to do that. I don't know how to get the FBX of my avatar. I only have the FBX of the original model before I updated it with other assets. Is there an easy way to import my avatar? It's my first time trying to use blender.

Click on the avatars name in the hierarchy then click where it says avatar in the inspector- that will bring you to where the fbx is. Assets you've added won't be on it, you'd have to add in blender.. Also I don't think cats works with latest blender. The difficult part will be exporting back into unity... You'll need pumpkins avatar tools.

You can get a plugin for that on Unity itself from its own store. I think its called "FBX Exporter".
I use it often when I see an issue with a model that I want to fix, or I personally want to change.
