Is it crazy that the furry vrchat event is a pay to enter event?

Like... I get that this is going to some charity and they need to compensate artists but I have never seen an event in VRChat that you had to PAY for to get into. it is, at minimum, 30 usd to attend. I could be missing something idk, this just boggles my mind because I have never heard of an event that is pay-to-enter on this game.

Actually there was another event you had to pay to enter.

a few years ago they made a Sword art online event. and even if you could enter an area there was a section of it that was payed

Its its kinda* crazy, but they make it free entrance for some worlds for a month before the event started
It was a really big event, with cool worlds, worth that 30 usd
And people were giving free entrances codes tho
But honestly honestly... their staff is doing shady stuff in the background that someday it will come to the light

Not really crazy since there were the Sanrio Wonderland concerts that one time! However, it was select concerts that were free, and it really wasn't worth it because some were in worlds that you could enter for free. Vshojo girls like Ironmouse performed along with some JP artists, with tickets going around $25 and so on.

But the difference is Sanrio wasn't giving to charity (unless I missed something, I was caught up in buying tickets for Ironmouse, so I didn't see if the fine print mentioned any), while this is clearly stating it's for charity and for the artists. It all depends on what you see is more worthy at the end of the day!
