Removing Inactive Topics and Unnecessary Comments

@Damnation It's the same thing as back in the day before DRM became a thing. You would buy a game and then copy it to your friends. Downloading something from LimeWire or Napster, BitTorrent a cracked game. Normally it is not worth it to go after someone that is small. But someone got a stick up their ass and snitched on me. Why, I have no idea. Possibly their ego got hurt that I posted it first but I'm not here for votes or clout.
There are people that thought they were being smartasses and took the stuff i put a timer on and permaposted it while making a smart-ass remark about it and they just haven't posted since. Pretty sure they got the same thing I did when I got busted. I just want assets and people to stop leeching living off the few of us that actually do buy the stuff and take some of the risk and burden off of us. There more there are, the harder it is to lock on one person.
-
Oh and to the person that keeps downvoting me because versace said they will suspend me at -100, heres another one for you to downvote :3
You aien't hurting me trying to get me suspended. You are only biting your own ass.
-
@TheGodfather Sorry that you got reported! I think a lot of people just don't quite get the timer thing, since very few people do it, or at least mention having it like you (I was the same when I first joined) and also the downvote thing paired with it just seems unusual and easily misunderstood as malicious. What repercussions did you get after you were snitched on? Hope nothing grave happened! Also yeah it would be nice to have more people sharing stuff, but I do see that a lot of people don't exactly have the means to do it (like me who had to make my own assets to start trading and get more stuff I could share here)
-
@Damnation Repercussions? I'll put it this way. I am lucky the exchange rate of dollar to yen is very good.
-
@TheGodfather The suspension of your account at a reputation score of -100 is a measure applied universally to all forum users who attain such a level of negative reputation. It is evident that a negative reputation score is disadvantageous, and your tendency to engage in frequent arguments on the forum exacerbates this issue. I am disinclined to expend my time and effort in supervising aimless arguments that lack a discernible purpose.
-
@TheGodfather I wonder how someone 'snitched' on you? Surely you could just create another account? They don't have your personal information, especially if on a VPN.
-
@PrIsMaTiSm Don't be the only idiot to buy an old booth asset that hasen't made been making sales as of late and share it right away.
@SpookyVersace Riiight. I'm sure you can see the list of whos downvoting me right now. They seem awfully motivated all of a sudden when you mentioned the -100 suspend. But as I said, aient my loss.
Actually I feel like conducting an experiment.

Not gonna lie this is the worst idea that's come from ripper store ever since they Want to add in a premium accounts place no offense but. Looking for section isn't un organised there's a search bar for people to find things that have already been searched for. your idea would be a waste because say someone wanted a model that had already been found but you deleted it that means that person has to post it again and wait double the time when they could just search it up and find it instantly
-
@VexinTenoa It appears that you may not have fully read or understood my original post or my reply to a comment expressing similar concerns to yours. I would like to clarify that my reference was specifically to the "Looking for..." section, which is intended solely for avatars/assets that are currently missing. Any topics that contain information or links related to a found avatar will be relocated to the appropriate category, and I have no intention of deleting them.
In addition, the current organization of the section is rather chaotic, with various unrelated topics that should be placed in different categories. This can be confusing for users who may be searching for a particular avatar but are unsure if it has already been found. They may have to sift through numerous "+1" or "bump" comments before realizing that the avatar is not present.
By moving all found avatars or assets to their appropriate categories, it will be much easier for users to navigate and understand which topics are relevant to their needs, without having to click through each one to determine if an avatar or asset is present.
-
my recommendation for the second thing is, instead of wasting your energy and time on removing "+1" and "bump" comments you could pin the answer to the thread at the top? i think that would be really nice + helpful since we wouldn't have to do the scrolling regardless anymore! just a recommendation ♡
-
@SpookyVersace No i read it correctly the ideas just completely stupid. No one has complained about it and removing inactive topics won't help with the others being confused that is your guys fault for allow people to go ahead and put +1 and bump on it. What i've read from both of your posts is your lazy to tell people off for putting those 2 things as comments Inactive posts are helpful in many ways Let alone no one cares or gives a shit about the stupid idea of filtering models to a found and not found. Or did you forget you all have already tried to implement a rule for people to thank and change the tag of posts and no one has done that. you all just seem so bored of actually trying and want to nit pick at things that already work
-
i recommend that yall should add a security system to protect trolls from posting infected or malicious files instead of focusing on something like that rn, like a 1 week limit for the newer accounts to be able to make posts or reply, recently a ton of new accounts are appearing just to spread infected files and spam posts. That's honestly ruining the whole forum.
-
@Talias your example has been show literally as soon as anyone says negative things or search for something they get -2 rep for no reason but the person hating
-
@salieri if that is true, that is very concerning.. if this is an actual issue i definitely think it takes top priority
for now i think the smartest decision is to only download things from people with a high enough reputation score or you can see through their profile they are an active user in the community. please stay safe
-
@kitten no, even people with high reputation can share corrupted files, like poyangsan did with many different Fiona versions they downloaded from a not so safe website.
-
@Dexizuki no idea, i didnt paid attention to what happened for his account getting suspended, but i've been seeing a lot of creators from booth/gumroad assets coming to this forum complain and some of them are the authors of those infected files.
-
@Kitten, thank you for your recommendation; we will definitely start doing this!
@VexinTenoa, Your initial response was addressing something that I did not say. I made these changes based on feedback I received from several individuals who messaged me about things that confused them on the forums. It's impossible to please everyone. Also your comments about the "stupid ideas"... Many members have edited their posts to include "Found By..." when they found what they were searching for, also this was never a "rule". I feel that your focus seems to be solely on ensuring that people locate the "looking for" topics you've made... Also, your communication style is coming across as childish. It's difficult to take you seriously. Also, you don't seem to contribute much to the community beyond "looking for" topics. Your toxic attitude is unproductive and doesn't contribute to anything. It's not hard to approach discussions with a level of respect and professionalism, and comments such as "lazy" and "bored" are not helpful or constructive.
@Talias I don't think it's a good idea to ban people who comment "+1" or "bump," and I've noticed that you also engage in these practices. Additionally, it's not fair to tell someone to "do their work properly" because you had a hard time with something and when you don't have a full understanding of what goes on behind the scenes. You need to understand that different tasks in the RipperStore are handled by different people, and things may not be as straightforward as they appear. People need to be patient and understanding, as these tasks can take time and effort to complete.
@salieri, I understand your concern about implementing a security system on the forum, but it would require a lot of time and effort and it's not that simple. It's important for users to be cautious and mindful of what they download from the forum, just as with any other website or platform. There are users like @Tenshi and a few more who help to flag potentially malicious posts. I work a full-time job and it's very hard to keep up with everything on the forums at all times. I will look into your idea of time-gating new users before they can post but I don't think this wouldn't really fix the issue. On several occasions, a forum guest would stumble upon a post in which someone was seeking an avatar. The visitor would create an account to share the avatar but never log in again. This is one disadvantage of time-gating. At the end of the day, it's the responsibility of the users to be careful and cautious when downloading any files from the forum as we cannot guarantee that all files are safe.
@Dexizuki I would like to clarify that I did not ban or suspend TheGodfather. They chose to delete their own account and create a new one. I guess they wanted to start fresh with a new account, they are free to do so, and I will not suspend them on that new account.

@VexinTenoa You posted 76 looking for posts without any links and some of which didn't have any pictures either, only recently have you started posting ones with actual links, 4 to be specific (these don't count your deleted posts)(I think this also explains why your reputation is in the minus, instead of people just being haters) I would say your experience is vastly different to a normal user's, since most post with links and pictures instead of a vague description. These people do make it easier to find stuff, of course, but seeing if something has been found or not is still not the easiest through all the posts especially when people are still bumping for another item (in cases where there are multiple items in a post and only 1-2 has been found) The bumping itself isn't the problem since that helps people discover the post and potentially send the item people are looking for
@Talias Also the other person who mentioned searching via image: 1. That's pretty hard to program, even google has issues with it still 2. A lot of items have multiple pictures and people might post different ones of the same thing 3. Even different cropping or quality can make a program not recognize 2 images as the same thing, it would be time wasted to try making it work
