Is it possible to track people with their old username?

I was able to do this when the ripperstore was still up.
You just search their old user name, their avatars pop up and you click on their username in the description and boom, you got their updated name.

Now the ripperstore is down I can't. Is there another way to do this?

I mean, the user ID never changes if you can get that instead, and if you're friends with a person at least, VRCX will notify you of Display Name changes
