It's just a false positive, it's not obfuscated. Feel free to inspect that it only ever contacts GitHub for version checks and VRC for auth/uploading. I have attached virus total scans for both UBZig public and the uploader GUI/CLI, hopefully false positives go down with time as the executable makes the rounds. -

[Release] VRC Avatar Uploader β Desktop GUI + CLI Avatar Upload Tool
VRC Avatar Uploader is now available.
Iβm genuinely really excited and happy to finally have something like this to give back to the RipperStore community.
This program was made by two friends that I personally trust, so you donβt have to worry about anything malicious being included in it. We wanted to give this to the RipperStore community so everyone can use it in whatever way works best for them.
Whether you just want an easy GUI for uploading avatars or youβre a developer/mod creator who wants to integrate the uploader into your own tools using the CLI, itβs there for you to use.
Desktop + CLI avatar uploading for VRC, powered by UBZig, with a unified GUI/CLI app and stricter startup safety checks.
What is this?
VRC Avatar Uploader is a merged Avalonia desktop + command-line uploader:
- No arguments launches the GUI.
- CLI arguments launch command-line mode. This is especially useful for mod/tool creators.
- One main executable:
VrcAvatarUploader.exe. - UBZig remains an external runtime dependency (
ubzig.exe).
My friend will be posting the rest of the information below, including the download, instructions, features, CLI details, and anything else you need to know about using the program.
If anyone needs help with the program, has questions, runs into an issue, or just isnβt sure how something works, feel free to message any of us. Weβll be happy to help where we can.

no idea if/how to make the avatars be quest though

You need the avatarβs
.vrcafile, which is basically the finished/build version of the avatar. Once you have the.vrca, you can upload that avatar to your own VRChat account using the program. -

Doesn't it also support VRCA files created in Unity 2019?
I tried this before asking the question, but the game crashed after the avatar loaded

It does, you would've received a prompt asking if you want to proceed and forcefully try promote the shader, leave it as is or cancel the operation. You likely selected force proceed. The unsafe preserve option keeps the shader/avatar in tact but can pose a risk. Join the discord and submit the bundle to me so i can confirm these suspicions. -

You can find a service that is willing to rip the models that you want
Or you can look into a VRCA Dump server or a client that decrypts the models on load!
