How do I rip avatars in 2025?

There is an avatar recovery server on discord, they had a tool called SARS.
Since the VRChat update that encrypts your cache files, any new .vrca (previously called __data) files won't work. But the website they run after a small dono of 5$ you can have access to the thousands+ of avatars on their api/database, (the files are from before the .vrca patch so they still work). However if the avatar is not in their database then you might be out of luck on the ripping side of things, could just try to get a picture of the avatar and post something to see if anyone knows what it might be.

@FluffyBear627 very true but sars no longer is able to rip private avatars only public, idk if u can rip private avis again if u pay but there is a other server which simply lets u get any avatar private or not with the help of their discord bot, but sars deff still is worth it imo not the paid stuff just the public one.

and theres deff some servers currently still up that have clients (which are private ofc) that allow full on ripping still

ripping is doable now, its all in house programs last i checked. IDK how safe either.
Servers dedicate bots and softwares to ripping [heard of sum circusy place knowing a guy called maggie]

you can pay for softwares to, a burner account is suggested tbf
