Important Forum Safety Announcement
-
Hello, everyone!
I have an important announcement regarding forum safety. It's crucial for all of you to prioritize your safety and exercise caution when downloading files. Our forums are a space where users can freely share content. While it has been a peaceful environment so far with no major issues, we anticipate increased activity as our main website closes down. This increased traffic also brings with it an elevated potential risk, and we want to ensure all of you to stay safe.
It's important to note that we cannot thoroughly vet everything shared on the forums. Therefore, it falls on each user to take responsibility for their own safety.
To enhance your safety, we have a few recommendations:
Utilize a UnityPackage extractor: This tool serves as an additional layer of security when dealing with Unity packages. It helps safeguard your system from potential threats.
Avoid importing .cs files unless absolutely necessary: These files can potentially be malicious, so exercise caution. Ensure that you trust the source, and be mindful of their intentions.
Verify the trustworthiness of forum users: We've introduced a ranking system based on reputation to help identify community members who are trusted. However, even with this system in place, it's essential to remain vigilant.
Your safety is important. If you come across a user who is posting malicious files, please flag that user and their post and reach out to me or CodeAngel directly. We will take action to ban such users from the forums.
Additionally, if any of you have other advice on how to stay safe, please feel free to comment below and share your insights. Your active participation in ensuring forum safety is greatly appreciated.
Have a great rest of your day, y'all, and remember to stay safe! ️️

We appreciate your concern with safety, however the rep system is of little consequence on this avenue. It means little to nothing when it comes to this, simply due to the nature of its implementation. If a user finds a post/user promoting malicious files, it will always be more effective to report said activity instead of downvoting. I and others serve as examples for how little the reputation system should be trusted and utilized.
