Important Announcement: RipperStore Closure and Forum Continuation
-
Hehe well the forum is the good part anyway.
-
I agree with @TOJIRAH, would be nice to disable limits or at the very least enable people who've set their stuff to be private/undownloadable/disabled. I understand that disabling limits would be unrealistic, but, surely making blacklisted avatars available wouldn't be out of the question.
-
Is it possible to make blacklisted content available again? Yes, as I distinctly remember at one point someone had made a thread* involving an avatar from a blacklisted user's account by the name Flynsie, and their content is no longer blacklisted as it once was.
Will it happen for all blacklisted content? To that I say just don't get your hopes up.*Referenced Thread: https://forum.ripper.store/topic/5885/lf-this-avatar/9?_=1695035298182

@SpookyVersace said in Important Announcement: RipperStore Closure and Forum Continuation:
We kindly urge you to download any necessary content, files, or information from our website before this date.
For this proposal, please remove the restriction, limits and if possible credits for unlimited avatar archiving.
-
Seriously, I would be extremely pushy for an answer, will action be taken to remove the restriction, or not? There's not much time, + I'm at work. I have thousands of avatars to save.
Should we wait for any changes or not? Please respond.
Because I will have to negotiate with users who have hundreds of thousands of credits, in return I will thank you with models that are not on the site.
This is very important. Thank you.
-
@CodeAngel Thank you for the quick response.
I didn't realize there was a queue for avatar downloads. It seems very strange to have to get in line for things that are unimpeded to take.
Is there not some sort of workaround for this situation? Or creating a new solution?
I'd like to talk more about this if possible in private messages.

Question about the archive. Will the administration create a backup copy of all resources? So that it can be used at least through Discord?
I know free places for storing files up to one terabyte. It would be great to move everything there.
And by the way, I don't see why the site is shutting down.
-
@KeiKei_KW the answer is obvious, I hope everything will be deleted and nothing archived and I hope they keep their promise not to keep any backups of everything
-
@木浪 Thank you for the reply. At least you were able to answer. I don't know why the post said we can write questions and they'll be answered if there's basically no answer.
It's a shame that nothing can be salvaged from the administration side. We will have to archive by our own efforts and the community. -
In that case, if there are those who have a lot of credits on their account, I would be willing to save favorite avatars manually.
In gratitude, I'll talk about models that will interest you. So to speak, material for material you don't have.
Exclusives including. -
@KeiKei_KW I have 1300 credits left on my account, what do you want?
-
@Lizuap I apologize for the long reply.
Unfortunately, 1300 credits is very little. They will help on the free limit increase though. But, I have a lot of private avatars, so it's unfortunately not enough.
Let's say I take you up on your offer. What avatars or models can I thank you with that you are interested in?
-
@KeiKei_KW That's still 40+ avis. Also I don't need no model
-
@KeiKei_KW I'll tell you if anything comes to mind

I don't have much knowledge on file websites that tend to mainly focus on archiving/sharing VR related avatars and assets. I only joined this forum this year, so I'm relieved the forums will stay intact. Furthermore, I found the forums easier to use than that main ripper store site
I would like to ask though if it might be possible. Would it be beneficial to make an updated official master list of websites we could contribute to as a community. Somewhere we could migrate to or use in case we have to go to a new platform in the future? I'm a bit scatterbrained, so I can't remember if we're not allowed to openly give info and/or links to similar websites in case someone advertises a malicious website that's not worth the risk to download stuff
It would be nice if there was a backup plan just in case because I have no clue where else to go
