Hi everyone,I’m the developer of the recommended app EasyExtractUnitypackage, and I wanted to address the issue brought up here. First off, thank you for mentioning my app! I noticed that some of you are trying to use it to extract an encrypted
.unitypackage
(or code files in it). Unfortunately, in the current version 2.0.6.6, the app crashes when attempting to handle encrypted files.What’s the plan?
I’ve investigated the issue and already implemented a fix in the upcoming version 2.0.6.7. This update will prevent the app from crashing when encountering encrypted or corrupted files. While I don’t plan to add a decryption feature, I will introduce a "user warning" system, similar to how the app currently warns users about Discord webhooks or links found in code. In the new version, the app will notify users if certain files are encrypted or corrupted, so you’re aware of the issue without the app attempting to decrypt or bypass it.When will the fix be available?
The fix is ready and will be included in version 2.0.6.7. However, I can’t say exactly when the update will be released—it might take a bit longer as I’m still working on finalizing and testing it.Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I appreciate your patience. If you have any other questions or feedback, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,

HakuSystems@HakuSystems Thanks so much for letting us know! To be clear, you're saying the app will no longer crash, but also won't pull any assets, textures, etc. from a corrupted or encrypted file?

@Strawbaby
Thanks for the question and for the feedback. To clarify the upcoming changes in version 2.0.6.7:Crash/Extraction not Working Fix & Warning Notification:
The update will prevent the app from crashing when it encounters encrypted or corrupted files. Instead, you’ll receive a clear warning—similar to our current alerts for Discord webhooks or links in Code Files.Extraction Behavior:
The app will still extract the assets from the .unitypackage—even if some files are encrypted. That means you’ll be able to extract and use the content as usual, but the encrypted portions will remain encrypted. In other words, the app won’t decrypt the content; it simply extracts everything “as is” along with the encryption intact.I hope this clears things up. Thank you for your patience and for helping us improve the tool!
Best regards,
