Why do we use Ripper Store? I would like to hear everyone's thoughts.

I usually spend around $50 a month on asset purchases.
However, I've had instances where the assets I bought didn't match the thumbnails.Because of this, I've used Ripper Store a few times to try out assets before deciding to purchase them.
I know this is illegal, but I'm curious about what others in this forum think. Please fill out the Google Form below. (No personal information is collected)

@Potato2022 I understand. I just recently discovered this site and had some questions out of curiosity. I hope this can lead to an interesting discussion.

almost time am just testing models before buying
have 2 thing that i will buy as soon as i will have enough money -
I use these ripperstore/vrmodels cause i want to test out an avi personally and see if i like it and if i dont i never wear it
simply isnt worth a fucking price of a meal to possibly never wear an avatar shoot even irl if you dont like an clothing item you can get a refund within 30 days (or along those lines) but it boils my blood that creators are asking so much money for knowledge and complain that the internet is literally being the internet
and personally ill buy some avis just to share them with friends who cant afford it...cause like i said it shouldnt cost a fucking meal

@amunetzzz
I'm glad I can relate to others who have had similar experiences.
In real life, it's a given that you can try on clothes or return items if they're defective—it's a basic consumer right. It's really unfortunate that this isn't possible with avatars.I hope this market evolves in a way that benefits both sellers and buyers.

Testing" Avatars might become a thing with VRChat's Avatar Creator Economy, but people who sell on third-party markets (Gumroad,Payhip,Booth) will most-likely never introduce this.
because its digital thing testing kinda hard
for booth avatars we have samples now, buuut its kinda different
because in sample you cant see inside setting (its kinda important for custumization).. -
cause I hate the consumer market. it feels like we dont "own" any of the assets with the way the rules are set in place. kinda the same argument of "we dont own our games" so we rip or emulate them to keep them.

I'll be honest, I used this site not only to find cute things, but also to try assets before I fully commit to them. Kinda like "try before you buy"! A pretty booth listing or gumroad listing can't always guarantee you a pretty asset. Sometimes it's too unoptimized, it's not available for certain avatars, or it simply doesn't measure up to your own expectations. Some creators dont have the time sometimes or the know-how to make worlds just to allow people to try on assets either. VKet 2022-2023 had a booth that let you try on clothing assets, but even that had its flaws. It just is easier to scroll around, find a DL, and drop it into unity if all you want to do is try something new. So if I like something enough, I'll buy it after (and if it's reasonably priced).
That last point is a reason many people decide to go on here though. Won't name names, but I will say some people overcharge on avatars that simply are just a base mixed with assets of other creators. Not everyone is willing to pay $70+ when they can either remake the avatar for cheaper or just get it from a post.
