@NullCipher VN3 doesn't apply only to Japan, I put below why. I know at the very least from a legalistic standpoint they have to at least make the attempt to protect their license or they effectively lose it. So while you might not like it, they need to be doing what they are. It's effectively the same as how copyright and patent laws from one country have no teeth unless they are actively enforced. The only difference is scale.
Not that any of this matters in the end on this website, I just thought what you said seemed a little short sighted.
Directly from the VN3 website.
[For right-holders]
The VN3 license was created assuming that Japanese law applies and that the right-holder is located in Japan. If you are a right-holder residing outside of Japan, we recommend that you avoid using this license as it is. The templates and icons under this license are available to the public free of charge, so we recommend that you devise your own way to use them by the legal system and jurisdiction of your country. If you wish to use the generator, you should indicate in the special notes section that you want to change the governing law and jurisdiction.[For users]
The regulations and restrictions do not change depending on which country the user resides in. However, since the VN3 license is based on Japanese law, we recommend that you read it carefully, as it may differ from the laws and business practices of countries other than Japan.Anyways, bump.
