Well that. A bit about the situation. Our sysadmin is, of course, quite the klutz. He messed up with security, even though he claimed he was working on improving it. But in the end, it turned out to be the exact opposite — they hacked in and simply deleted all the files from all the servers. After seeing that, I laughed at our sysadmin for a long time.T
o be honest, the files can be recovered. But it will take a lot of time and will be very tedious. I’m not even sure whether it’s worth taking on. And I’m not sure we’ll be able to recover everything at all.
There is a backup of the main website, as well as the file server. However, it’s not the most up‑to‑date one and isn’t from the current date (the beginning of the month). But the situation with the file server is exactly the opposite — it’s in a deplorable state. And the backup there was made a long time ago. After all, the volumes there are very large in TB.So far, the situation is as follows:
- Everything has been deleted. All files.
- The system administrator was sent packing and kicked out of the team.
- Well, for now I’ve given up and thrown in the towel.
I don’t even see the point in doing anything. I’m thinking of just closing the project and not bothering with it. After all, even the working project caused a lot of headaches. In any case, I’ll be thinking about this until evening. If I don’t decide to restore everything, we’ll just abandon the project. That’s how things stand.
