VRCW Hotswap Script (beta)
-
This is huge...
You say it's beta but it already works pretty well, damn. And I'm usually the one complaining and breaking unfinished products, lmao.To anyone else out there, if you are using Unity 2022.3.22f1 and the .vrcw reports as Unity 2022.3.22f2-DWR in the hotswap plugin, it works out. I ccaaannn confirm.
Will be working on assembling alts and using them to upload some lost worlds, for everyone.
@data_preserv Appreciate it. I've updated the DWR disclaimers now, they note that 22f2-DWR on 22f1 can often times work (thanks for confirming), but isn't always 100% (in my experience). Glad it's treating you well!

it tries but the world im using is way too large to do the android vrcw bc of it being uncompressed 140mb
@Verdanṫ That was one of my main concerns was that android worlds barely get packed, so unless the assetbundle is already tiny it doesn't seem like it will upload properly

But it should work for some Android world bundles hopefully
-
i am genuinely curious so this is just to upload the world to ur account or am i able to also edit the world?
@oxygyn just uploads the world to your account, the tool only changes bp id in a temporary modified build of whatever vrcw you throw at it.
tl;dr no you can't edit the world with this tool

@thebigbaddawg im going to try with a different vrcw bc i only needed the other one on pc mainly to see if it was locked to the specific world id or just a script in it and it was the script so ill try an android one here in a minute murder 4 perchance

I've updated the script to v1.0.3 beta, which adds compatibility with Unity Editor 2019 & Earlier VRCSDKs, with tested & confirmed working for: Worlds SDK 3.4.2 on Unity 2019.4.31f1 with PC worlds that match 2019.4.31f1.

@thebigbaddawg i can confirm if the uncompressed size is small enough and unity versions match it uploads fine

@Verdanṫ Thanks for confirming, and world is joinable on Android perfectly fine?
Only issue why I wasn't able to test it was because I don't have any Android VRCW's, only PC vrcw's

Nice, I will update the script at a later date to just skip the disclaimers for android assuming the world is low enough file size & on the correct unity editor version
