They already have an age verification system in place, albeit an imperfect oneβI've heard of users bypassing it with fake IDs. The logical step would be to restrict NSFW worlds: only allow verified users to create them and require all joiners to be verified as well. While these worlds might not get much visibility, that won't stop adult users who are actively looking for them anyway. Frankly, it feels like the VRChat team is just lazy or incompetent. They're trying to please everyone and make money from both sides, but they're just alienating both communities.

You have to accept some level of imperfect, on a systemic scale. No age gating system will be perfect, there will be bypasses. The point, legally, is to make a reasonably effective effort to stop minors from wandering into exposure to sexual or overly graphic content.
If they go hacking systems, actively PUSHING hard to gain access to that content, the blame should fall on the parents (finally, smh.)I've been thinking and theory crafting more, and... personally, I think VRChat's actions- that are seemingly entirely anti-NSFW but also contradictory- are all just to avoid a potentially game-ending lawsuit.
Laws everywhere have recently been putting more and more pressure on the companies to do the parents job (unfortunately,) and failure to comply could mean regional restrictions, payment processors block them (also not okay but different topic,) or they get their ass handed to them in court and lose everything in an instant.That said, they've done enough, or very nearly enough, to comply with these laws, but their solution is half-baked.
It will likely be that way until their focus turns back around to it. -

I yet to see somone who looked at leaderboard and was like wow that is cool, most of them make fun of the top10 for spending this much money for a sticker that is pixel.

Sad if they spent that much just for the hollow status. But if they spent that much to help people get age verified en-masse, that's pretty cool in my books. If they're doing it for the right reasons. -

@weirdweed I know a guy who knows a guy who's a trust fund kid. I also heard about the chinese vrc+ gift dropping communities. Wanna know what these two have in common? Money to throw away without much care. Especially the bored trust fund kids (kids as a relative term, not age).

Creator of MMD @ Midnight. I don't really care if you guys share the codes and all - I'm not doing it to make money and there isn't a paywall. With all the AI/VRC bans going on, I'm keeping this mostly on the downlow, especially since Gentlemen's club got deleted.Also, it's still a work in progress and I've changed the pw after every update. I'm fine if you hear the code via word of mouth (it wont be by me), but this is also the reason why Gentlemen's got taken down and is now private.
It may come to the point where I decide to take down all the hidden songs and remove the passcode so the world is "safe". What you do in the world is another discussion, one that doesn't concern me.
Honestly, if VRChat made it so you could set a published world to only be age-gated (as in no other option), I would put it out there with no passcode

I wouldn't consider calling someone "mysterious and coy" just because they don't want to get banned by VRChat because the devs won't accept NSFW in adult only spaces. The fact alone that they even bothered giving us a response is nicer than most creators
