Is the avatar still usable without any editing or does it cause too much fps issues?
I usually don't optimize my avatars too much@YumikoTheCutie I'd recommend using a Texture Optimizer to reduce the resolution of textures to at least 1024, no need to crunch compress.
And d4rk optimizer which is a script that gets added to your avatar descriptor. That should knock down most of the performance issues that might pop up. This is the bare minimum I add to my avatars. It's non-destructive and doesn't take long at all.
I heavily recommend adding d4rk optimizer to every single avatar you use.
Texture reduction really depends on how the textures were made on the avatar and clothing, but it will heavily reduce VRAM usage. -
Here are some example prefabs for those who need/curious about it. These are rather barebones without many options from the original avatar.
I don't have much motivation to do more work on it at the moment.
The 3 objects with scripts inside of the prefabs are somewhat transferable between avatars with minor adjustments needed to them.

If you switch out the hair, it is possible to get it down to good rating. Physbone transforms are always the limiting factor on this avi.

@halfthejug If I ever get to fixing the toggles. What you see above is what I currently have for SFW versions. NSFW can be adapted by simply using my provided examples and following my recommendations above.
Although, NSFW requires all the original FX layers and original expression menus.
I haven't optimised the nsfw in a true sense yet, because my nsfw version still has the original messy stuff, just more optimised regarding meshes and materials. FX layer also provides quite an impact on performance of the avatar, just not counted towards the rating on VRChat because from VRChat point of view, layers are a completely locked down black box.I do not understand much about Vixen yet, because the tool that was leaked here completely errors out in my projects and nearly breaks them. Also the way Vixen makes toggles is like 9x worse for performance.
I showed some screenshots to an expert when it comes to unity, and they nearly had a headache seeing how bad it is. -

To put into perspective, they're someone who managed to remake and fit the entire FNAF game into a properly functioning avatar as a spawnable prefab and keep the avatar under 50 mb. I do not know the kind of sorcery they did because the avatar didn't even lag anyone either. And they said the way this avatar was made was headache inducing, not because of the difficulty, but because of disappointment.
