@Vanxto easy, godfall only kitbash assets the same way they did with their previous avatars sale.
the entire game is made of prefab, which are often not compatible with each other unless you patch them.
But since they are not real udon coder and rely on prefab, they just don't know how the majority of the code work.
This result in :
- boats still spawning on top of the sand or sink directly
- UI is semi invisible and hard to read during fog event
- The luck modifier still partially work
- instance will freak out after a few hours if more than 5 peoples are in it
- you can still catch fish way bigger than your actual weight limit pool
- most whirpools doesn't work as intended
- they had to "hire" a moron who doesn't know jackshit about cryptography to try to protect their patreon list
- the driver seats of each boat is an object togable, just like the VRCEconomy ui button
and i could keep going. But clearly, godfall did not wanted to listen to all my offers on how to fix those. and instead misinterpreted telling them about the exploit as a threat and banned me forever.
But that ok, soon i will post the fully working unity project so anyone can upload their own private instance of FISH! and will be able to have all the paid skin unlocked

@saba Because it is working, it's currently bringing over 7k+ monthly for godfall, and an estimation of 3k daily for vrchat from the VRCeconomy.
So yeah, they are fully aware that Nintendo is involved and they are very well aware of the report. But Like ToN and what used to be the old popcorn palace (movie & chill), they will turn the blind eyes because their ToS state that they aren't responsible for user content creation. So until Nintendo contact vrchat for a cease and desist, they will pump as much money as possible out of it.
Because at the end, only godfall will be prosecuted, not vrchat, so vrchat will keep all the money they are milking out of this project.
they can't answer multiple IP infringements even with solid proofs, but they will sure ban you within the hour for having a naughty sticker. Which prove they only care about what they want to care.
The former team behind vrchat minus the upper hand, were all fired before being replaced with greedy corporate assholes.

PS: it's also funny to see all the whiteknights creating accounts to downvote every post i write, like that all they have to do with their lives xD, protecting a nobody who isn't their friends. The fanbase will always be a mysterious thing to me.
They aren't even getting rewarded with anything, they are just in denial they gave money to a kitbasher who asset flips.
If it wasn't for the one to one copy of the fishing system from a beloved franchise ( Stardew valley) and the beloved cute characters ( Animal Crossing), this game would have never been successful at all.
People play it not because they enjoy that game, they do it because the game look like some well enjoyed franchises. -

@Lucian $7,000 USD is outrageous, but no shock, I have to admit, the game's addictive.
Nintendo must step in and shut down this theft of their assets. I couldn't care less about Nintendo these days, but Animal Crossing holds nostalgia from my childhood, and it enrages me that rip-off artists profit off their stolen work. Those animal character meshes are blatant rips from New Leaf's taller, slender models or New Horizons, fairly certain they're the same. The hedgehog ones are obvious kitbashes.
Godfall won't face real prosecution. I recall him having wild allegations like grooming before. I cut him off entirely after hearing that and never purchased a model from him ever again.
My friend got banned for a week over a suggestive sticker in an age-verified lobby. So I believe in the favoritism. Unless you're raking in cash for VRChat, you're just dirt under their shoes.
I miss the original VRChat team. I've been here since early 2017. Now it's a total dumpster fire.

im not surprised that this fishing game is a ripp of something else, as perusual all godfalls avatars where ripps from TDA stuff with a bunch of editting, he is making big illegal money here 100%, i hope this game goes down at some point, but yeah vrchat is just making money over it from the ToS, hope if this is true about the nintendo stuff, nintendo comes with lawyers as per usual to take it down, true karma coming to this godfall guy, i really dont know why ppl are so fan of him as if it was his work cus is not even him doing the stuff, he has his minions doing it for him...

@Verontu Player data loss is still actively fucking people over, even now. I’ve had zero issues when sticking to private instances, but public servers? it's a minefield for save wipes from client users. I suggest staying out of public lobbies forever. The devs have no idea how to code so it won't ever be fixed.

and i doubt it will be patched anytime soon, especially when you only kitbash prefab without knowledge of what you are doing.

@Lucian I don't hold anythin against you, so don't worry. That said, keep every secret buried forever. Godfall should’ve stayed in his lane and kept kitbashing TDA models like he’s actually good at instead of whatever this mess was supposed to be.
Did you know, they're straight-up ignoring players losing their entire progress now. They just lock threads, merge everything into one giant dumpster fire of a thread to pretend it's handled, and then send KittehKun out to do their dirty work, gaslighting people and flat-out lying about the save wipes. It's blatant and it's cowardly.

@xiakong Thank you for the informations, I've retried with a few changes in the config and it does work a lot better now. I still have a little issue though, sometimes it will recast in the program but I think the input are too fast and it doesn't do the action in game, so it's doing the "casting sequence" while in game the bobber isn't casted..

Whats the ETA on the assets from the world being available, or is there a decent method to extract them from the given files?

@sweetcandytoxin I'm using the one that was previously shared here it's "vrc-fish" by abligail, the program is pretty decent, there's a few updates that have been made in the past few days and it seems to work with every rarity of fish now ^^ I could share my config file if needed, I did a few tweaks so it's a bit better at working by itself than with the base settings.
edit: the config depend on the screen resolution and other parameters so my config might not work as good as me for someone else.

I want to let some people know, who go here privately with friends or what not there's a "spooky" man that can appear, people have shared it on twitter but I decided to look more into the files using this to find its legit.
There's two notes in the world, one at tanglewood and one at Luxian Dunes
These notes are just slender stylization, one saying "hide" and one saying "it follows, can't run"For those wanting to look into it themselves- He is under World Setup -> SpookySighting
He is a quad, just a billboard material flat png. He has at least 13 spawn locations and from my knowledge and at least 3 audio's linked to him one called "scp_spawn" -> "scp_despawn" -> "2025.11.14_FISH_Spooky_0947"
Unconfirmed if these audios work with him, but I can at least maybe verify that the spawn and despawn would be.At this current moment in time, from what I can at least know is that he follows your head input but will disappear. I'm unsure if he jumpscares, I'm unsure on anything else like chance for him to spawn etc as I am not able to access code.
I've attached at least his spawn locations in each area, just wanting to make people aware as this is a world I've been finding really comfortable but knowing this fucker exists is a little upsetting.
Please take all this as gospel, I cannot read the code, I don't know anything else other than he at least exists in world files!
@PrettyPigeon Wow, I really don't like that.. I was going to try it since these fishing worlds are cozy for me but this type of thing I'm sure would make my anxiety/paranoia go wild. I wish there was a way to turn off everything about it or something. I'd say I wish it didn't exist but I bet a lot of people like it
