jeez, that's pretty expensive.

If you think that's expensive, they recently released another avatar called Lumina which is 44,950 JPY or roughly $472 USD. I'm just as perplexed. I do apologise for my lack of knowledge making a model so i may sound stupidly naive. I do agree with what Eiron pointed out. Just shove the entire animation asset shop onto the one avatar and think about the model itself later. Took me a bit of research when I joined VRC to understand why so many creators always note about their product not being a TDA or game asset kit bash. These days, TDA is a big no-no
Mind you this isn't the first time i've seen a strangely expensive model on booth. I'm pretty sure everyone at some point once saw one at least once. Usually Yoyogi Mori is well known for usually having expensive models. My theory is the price is for the labour put into it and/or the assumption you're a content creator where what you're paying for is the commercial licence? Then again, i don't think anyone just simply drops a lot of money for something that's the price of a commercial licence even if you're only planning to use it for personal use only
I doubt every soul wants to become a content creator or streamer. Not allowing to have a 'personal use' purchase option where its at least more reasonably cheaper like i've seen some sellers do would be at least fair for consumers.
I am more than happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. I just find it a bit frustrating when there is genuinely a interesting model and its basically inaccessible to most average players of VR social platforms. The bigger kick in the teeth is when there isn't even a sample of the avatar to actually test. So you're basically playing financial Russian roulette, buying it not knowing if it's well put together or not. Of course, you're not offered a refund if you don't like it, or it's been released in a broken state, since its a 'digital product'

I'm taking my time to enlighten you people now. this avatar took me 300+ hours to create. It's not a TDA edit, I haven't touched TDA since 2019.
The clothes were modelled completely from scratch by my girlfriend. The Hair as well. for other parts we use commercial licenses I aquire by people who made these parts from scratch.
Especially the rant of that person "LizEllie" is about as clueless as it gets. First of all idk why you add more than 150$ on top of its actual price.
Second of all this model took me over 600 hours of work. I have been working on it for over 4 months. My girlfriend modeled most of the clothes and all other parts were used with commercial licenses.
I know you people mostly care about Models, but the model is only 10% of this. My work is mostly about my Particles / sounds / systems / themes / immersion etc.
The new model has hundreds of particle systems handcrafted by me, over 45 sounds crafted by me with commercially aquired sounds. I even paid a Professional voiceactor to give the Avatar as much personality as possible. I made Animations with a lot of special interaction, even other people can use your animations if you drop it for them.
Shit on me all you want for my prices, but I know my 600+ hours of work on that model are worth it and y'all not knowing the worth of just some guy bringing his imagination to life shows.
This is all I'll ever leave you people. I know you won't support a single artist because they charge money for their work. But I want you people to be aware how much work is actually behind that.

even if the model is was made by scratch it can still be considered TDA inspired just by looks alone., but that's beside the point. i was aware it was a just to showcase a model rigged with animations and such. Personally i'm not interested in them at all, free or not. It's a waste of energy being mad at pirates and leakers, because it's gonna happen one way or the other if you have a good product. Don't take it out on your paying customers either.

Just based on this itself
Just give up xD also why the hell are all these so called creators on sharing communities. instead of getting free advertisement u basicly make ppl go against you instead whatater ur reason is . The second u step into a place like this ur considered a leaker urself sigh. Also the fact they say . I know you won't support a single artist because they charge money for their work. ROFL .
Most of us buy and support alot of people u have no clue what you are saying xD i spent all my christmass money for booth items and so does alot of other people aswell but i think no one would spend it on someone that joins here to just complain.
