Is it just closing unity for anyone else?

this is usually an issue with lod's newer/bigger models, if you have trouble with your unity crashing when opening the model just open the prefab rather then the entire OPEN ME!! scene. usually your unity is crashing because of how large the model is plus the added background plus the other models hidden in the scene. unity's trying to load so much at once and so it crashes as a result especially if you have multiple models or assets in said unity folder and have low storage. lod's models will eat your storage and cpu in unity alive. i've had this issue with two of their really heavy models this one and asmodeus. I hope this helps ^^
