It takes advantage of masks to allow you to recolor the model from within unity, although this will not match up to full retexture work.The model comes with substance painter 2021 files, and it has been streamlined to make editing the colors as easy as possible. All you have to do to edit colors in substance painter is change the coinvent fill layers labeled at the bottom of the layer stack. Some of the clothing materials may not have this system fully implemented, but they are relatively simple to edit normally.
