@eiron I don't know that stuff honestly. But I've been using the Selestia edit then I think, for quite some time too. So I wouldn't have a problem with buying it since I can afford it. I wouldn't know how they'd upload the avatar on my account though
-
if you don't know how to upload you're own avatar, you're gonna have more trouble buying from a chinese website.
it's not just a language issue. sites like these usually want you to register a chinese phone number and you have to deal with navigating ad-mazes -
@Eris-Masumi This user has 2 tiers, the "I upload it for you" and the "I give you the entire package"
-
@TheBoldStool Taking into consideration I have a friend who could help me with the language barrier and all I really care about is one specific avatar, should I go for the former?
-
@Eris-Masumi Imo I wouldn't go for the first one in any case (Likely not automatic, you need to give your account details to upload, if whatever happens and the avi breaks you can't fix it) I would much rather opt for the higher tier where they just give the entire package.
I also mentioned it wrong, there seems to be 3 tiers. Here's what I understand they are from the google translation (It's on the pic I sent above):
Tier1: They upload for you (125 yuan)
Tier2: They give the edited package but without including the Selestia base (250 yuan)
Tier3: Full thing (280 yuan) -
bump

@TheBoldStool I'll go for the second then I think

Taobao is pretty legit as it gets for China consumers. Kinda like Amazon just in China. Tho they have expended outside China, mostly south east Asia, and I have made a number of purchase there. Pretty good for buying stuff at cheap or just weird custom products you won’t find anywhere. You can really only purchase using debit/credit card that Taobao supports. PayPal is mostly impossible, you cant even transfer money to someone in China using paypal due to laws and stuff. Alipay probably won’t work unless you have a working China bank card, or a card that supports it. I haven’t got mine to work with it anyway, it’s pretty jank most of the time.
-
If you're accessing Taobao from outside China you get the option to use Visa/Mastercard/Amex. The shipping options still confound me so I use a shopping proxy.
-
@Eris-Masumi Good luck. My guess is that you just need to import the original base before the Yaok thing (Base of whatever booth avi, which is obvs over here on the forum), and hopefully it's nothing weird.
-
@ikirutoast based on what a friend said, Alipay should work with my MasterCard. I'll try one of these days or next month since I'm on a budget
-
@Eris-Masumi Good luck! If your friend has Mastercard, might be best to try and buy it directly from Taobao, since it supports it and you are buying digital goods anyway. Alipay may require an image of your passport if I remember correctly, just a pain in the ass.
