Aye, a cyberpunk pirate costume would be nice. If we be pirates, we should at least dress the part.
And maybe a cow kit, with an even larger extended accumulator than the current one available that can dispense milk. I'd like to keep a Runa milk lass on me ship for the long sails.

@C0-Eve Most agreeable take I've seen on it. Agreed that much of VRC's early years were mainly pirated/ports from other games and platforms, and nobody thinks much of it since it's a larger company. It's definitely much different for smaller creators though where some really need every margin they can get. Where I sometimes argue is that creators, big or small, need to find a way to actually work with the people who either buy or use their assets. Even outside of pirated assets, companies that usually try to fight or crackdown on people end up spending way too much time and money for solving absolutely nothing. I.E an idea from someone that essentially involved putting malware into packages or using invasive .dll files to validate assets. Just as creators make assets for their livelihood, there's a sea of other people with their own jobs to worry making enough money about. Instead of some people spending their sanity and precious hours of life trying to fight something already inevitable, just keep creating new things, take feedback, and offer what piracy doesn't give you. I always make it a habit to actually buy assets I've gotten from here once I have the money for it.
As far as feedback goes, I really wish there were more creators like you. Love the amount of support and guides you offer for experienced and inexperienced peeps in your packages. Only ever used a few of your models before but will say that they got love and soul put in em. A few gripes I've had was mainly the all-in-one package style, I usually like checking models in Blender first for optimization. Having to check unity isn't too much of an issue as much as it just makes my eye twinge.
Tori and Pory are refreshing additions to the base model market, always loved seeing new models that are actually decent. The topology on Toribase is good, love the inclusion of bone/rig groups in the blend life, pretty great for customization. Porybase much the same, they both have amazing weight painting and included features. The unity packages are also easy to load and launch straight away. The only thing with those two I have issues with is optimization mainly, especially Pory. Personally I feel like it's a lot of polygons (again mainly pory) when good sculpting and a normal map can easily replace the detail on most of the body. Joints and limbs have really nice bending but I feel like it would be no different with less polygons.
And I actually can't say anything about Runa, she's actually perfect. Optimized as all hell and has great detail. Would love to see more original stuff from you!

it'd be nice to see more stylized clothing for runa something streetwear-adjacent would be cool. or maybe an official weapon set.

@C0-Eve Heya! Don't know if someone has already come to you about this, But have you ever thought about including psds or making your avatars more easily editable like most other booth creators? I love your work but i adore doing heavy edits and Runa is VERY difficult to make heavier edits of, ultimately this is the only thing preventing me from using her constantly, And if she was more easily editable, I'd definitely have no problem buying her and her assets myself to support you and the other creators involved! (I prefer to test avatars in unity/blender before buying, and this is really my only issue tbh)

@C0-Eve honestly i love the runa model and the assest and everything that come out from it . its alot more better the most basic avis already and dose not feel generic in anyway due to the high customization and with assets like the bunny commander and the flat chest it makes me happy to have it leaning a bit more towards male and haveing a good male avi for once since most of use can agree that a great portion of male avis are kinda crap. i wish that life wasnt the way it is so i may buy most the stuff. but as you can see the collective here is a large fan of this work and is coming together to share the joy it brings us. tho the means aren't the greatest it shows we care and leave the links to the original works. i will say a prob i have come across is the level of unity knowledge and stuff you need to know to get things to work. a friend and i were putting the avi together and came across so many problems even with the help of the videos some things just wouldn't work textures wouldn't place on properly despite following exact instructions

@C0-Eve Oh, I do have one suggestion for Runa. If you could make the default Runa have their breasts, chest plate and belly as separate meshes like the RoboGF version for consistency, that would be great. We shouldn't have to pay an additional 45 dollars just to have those parts separable if we don't plan to do naughty stuff with Runa.
If possible, have additional parts of Runa as separate meshes like other booth avatar creators normally do for theirs (like the head, ears and butt plates, for example) so that we don't have to deal with the alpha masking nonsense when adding multiple addons that currently make use of custom alpha masks, and we can choose to disable specific meshes for optimization without having to open up blender.
And for the love of god, please use the "Booth format" naming scheme for the head mesh, body mesh, etc, and bones in the armature as the other booth avatars if you haven't done so yet. That would make things such as performing headswaps onto Runa's body less of a headache.
You claim that Runa's gimmick is to be modular, but having most of the avatar as a single mesh and having to rely on alpha masks or blender work, especially for a Runa that doesn't have the RoboGF addon applied, to do even the most basic things that other models on booth would allow you to do without having to open blender doesn't quite live up to that. And what good is an alpha mask if the people around you have shaders disabled through safety settings?

So maybe you farts can provide with some feedback at least, heh.
We care about your works and i actually butthurted, when on avatar searching world you can find Runa avatar. Yes, there a money problem of individual person and thats why we pirated. Yes, i gonna donate, buy and support original author, when there money for it. also you can still use slurs about our broke status and dirty deeds, anyway, that you come here for talk with us - give me much more love, respect for you.
btw Runa give me incredible inspiration and i spend too much time on unity and even start learning blender a little.About ideas:
I think you can do something seasons based. I like BIG FXCKING WITCH HATS, so halloween witch Runa gonna be pretty good with your realisation.Runa avatar feels so timeless and maybe you can make new versions of gameready. Maybe you need to build much solid base as adding few more hairstyles for base.
Maybe gestures toggle? New face emotes? Touchable facecheeks or even little dragable?I see here trend of a chibi avatars of popular ones. What about loli Runie? Smol cute Runie as Mamehinata one. also starting think about IRL fumo-like Runa plushie.

I stick to base Runa boobies and actually dont care about naughty stuff. Thats a good point.
Tori, there many newbies who get into avatar things started with your Runa avi. One of them even start topic with begging to share package with assets on it. Maybe thats point to sell your avi as gameready bundles for higher prices. Something like Gameready + hairs + booba bundle for -30% of all assets price or dunno.
Thank you, Torinyan!

I haven't even used Runa much but also upvoting this! I think it would be a good idea to have a .blend file with a separated for customization sake and a seperate .blend file ready for full upload or even a quest version if you made one for Runa.

I updated the list with all the available runa assets I could find and whatever links people have shared on this site. If anyone feels like completing the list by sharing their own stuff then feel free to do so.

More meshes = lower rating for optimization
Runa is a pretty complex Avatar design-wise and she's still rated medium. Even if she was rated red, she'd be pretty optimized. However, for a lot of people it's simply very interesting to stay either green or medium. Right now she can be made green and into a backup/quest Avatar with just a few tweaks too. This is extremely important for marketability.
The average customer does not edit Avatars, they simply use them as base version and provided with the base packages. Also nothing about her being modular is false, she's meant to be used with the assets I provide in my own store. Believe it or not, but people being able to buy and follow tutorials is simply the preferred method for many people. People like you that have somewhat of a know-how make up a tiny percentage of my customers. I'd rather inconvenience the 5% of people that could use the mentioned changes you want than to inconvenience my other 95%.
Even if it wouldn't inconvenience the 95%, the number of people it's relevant to is often very small. It's often not worth putting much time into it after releases, especially when people learned how to do things over time.
I want to point out that the goal is not to make the perfect Avatar, yes in the end Runa can be optimized, made more editing friendly and so on but you need to move on with projects. Right now she's already 5 months old and I'd like to eat, meaning there needs to be new things releasing and not just tweaking things people learned how to use. New things is usually also what people want, it's good for them since they get more Runa and good for me because I like money.
About the pricing, they're more than fair. I know the quality provided in the store and everything added together my assets often only cost 5$ per piece in packages. Third party products for Runa are even more expensive than this. Even Runa herself is pretty cheap, considering people want 70$ (and more) for their Kitbash Avatars.
I came here to collect feedback and not just compliments, so even if I disregarded a bunch of your arguments, I want you to know that there's usually a justification behind the decisions I make, based on the data I get from my customers and fans. Of course this doesn't apply to everything, I'm not all knowing and not excluded from really dumb decisions. No hard feelings dear.
I'll keep your feedback in mind though for the next Avatar that is going to be in the works soon. I think you guys will like it. Initially there was a femboy furry Avatar planned but that idea might just get scrapped, no idea.
Also @DTS maybe for Halloween she can get a big witch hat~
Although by then she's pretty old, generally the life-cycle for successful Avatar releases is around 6 months.BTW, I really wanted to ask what countries you all are from? Gumroad offers a feature where I can adjust the pricing to peoples countries, because 10$ can be very little here but a looooot in another country. Maybe it opens up a way for people outside the US/EU to buy products properly too and receive official support.
I guess I'm just scared that people might abuse this with a VPN to pay much cheaper prices and ruin it for people that could actually need it.

@C0-Eve I think this is the one of the best and professional answers anyone could give.
The cost of most well done VRC assets is in my opinion fair and justified, because if this was done for any other 3D industry, can easily net minimum few hundred to thousands of dollars for a newly created character on contracted work. The prices of VRC assets has mostly settled on where it is, because that is where affordability lies for most VRC users.
From inspiration and concept > block-out > modeling/UV unwrapping > texturing > shading > weight-painting and rigging > optimization > everything else in unity > testing > fine-tuning. I mostly do environmental 3D renders because I absolutely hate rigging and messing with game engines, so there may even be more work required that I am not fully aware of. Not to mention the considerations needed when selling to a certain target audience.
Balancing perfection and time hardly ever exist in this space. There has to be compromises in order to ensure that something is "finished". Its a tough pill to swallow but expectations needs to be set in place, especially for Torinyan's case, which is to consistently provide products for consumers to use.
So much respect to Torinyan and in regards to your question, my take is that you should not do regional pricing. While it is slightly unfair to some, as Steam has showed us, people have and will take advantage of this to buy at cheaper prices. Which is why some publishers outright ignore regional pricing, and charge the prices that they want.
-
@C0-Eve ooooh a torinyan furry femboy avi would be sweet. even a non-furry femboy would be great. Even if it's not you next avi maybe somewhere down the line. If they don't already, gumroad or booth should allow creators to make polls to get better feedback from customers/fans. That way if they want to make something a bit leftfield they can get i good idea if it's gonna be worth. Just someway to have better communication. I can understand booth because japs kind of have an old fashioned mentality. Gumroad should though, can't be that hard to implement in the year of our lord 2023. I suppose you could use twitter for that, but it might not be a good representative of your actual customers.
-
@C0-Eve Since a lot of your consumerbase is more used to female avatars/lewder stuff it might not be an easy switch to go for a fully male avatar, but an avatar that has the option to be made into male/male passing without blender work would be really nice in my opinion! It's really rare to find good genderfluid avatars, especially ones that aren't kitbashes. Of course it never hurts to do a change of pace, so it's really up to you what inspires you! The regional pricing sounds really sweet, shows how much you care and how kind you are, but even as someone who is from a country that would be eligible for lower prices, I'm afraid people would misuse your kindness with it... (ironic coming from this site, I know) For ideas maybe a Runa plushie or a chibi/ low poly version of her or just a low poly avatar in general? I think that would be really cute. Also a follower pet/cute accessory that suits the robot theme.
