jeez, that's pretty expensive.

If you think that's expensive, they recently released another avatar called Lumina which is 44,950 JPY or roughly $472 USD. I'm just as perplexed. I do apologise for my lack of knowledge making a model so i may sound stupidly naive. I do agree with what Eiron pointed out. Just shove the entire animation asset shop onto the one avatar and think about the model itself later. Took me a bit of research when I joined VRC to understand why so many creators always note about their product not being a TDA or game asset kit bash. These days, TDA is a big no-no
Mind you this isn't the first time i've seen a strangely expensive model on booth. I'm pretty sure everyone at some point once saw one at least once. Usually Yoyogi Mori is well known for usually having expensive models. My theory is the price is for the labour put into it and/or the assumption you're a content creator where what you're paying for is the commercial licence? Then again, i don't think anyone just simply drops a lot of money for something that's the price of a commercial licence even if you're only planning to use it for personal use only
I doubt every soul wants to become a content creator or streamer. Not allowing to have a 'personal use' purchase option where its at least more reasonably cheaper like i've seen some sellers do would be at least fair for consumers.
I am more than happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. I just find it a bit frustrating when there is genuinely a interesting model and its basically inaccessible to most average players of VR social platforms. The bigger kick in the teeth is when there isn't even a sample of the avatar to actually test. So you're basically playing financial Russian roulette, buying it not knowing if it's well put together or not. Of course, you're not offered a refund if you don't like it, or it's been released in a broken state, since its a 'digital product'
