Using drivers, I was able to create a customization menu which makes it easier to browse through each option. The irrelevant bones are automatically hidden and have their deform value disabled, which keeps them from being exported when "only deform bones" is checked on export. Unfortunately, this might make it more of a hassle to make custom modifications of the model outside of the menu I provided if you're not familiar with blender drivers.
