    There is no password.

    The link is right in the edit window, but the embed is missing an important bit of data at the end of the link, and the forum does not show the full link, only the embed.

    As a workaround for now, I have updated the FAQ to learn how to fix the issue. Take a look.

    @ripton

    Because this is a VRCW bundle, and unless you or someone else wanna "tackle" unpacking this bundle and setting everything up all over again script by script, shader by shader, asset by asset, this world can only be ran in offline testing mode using the VRC Quick Launcher.

    Plus, uploading this world would definitely put a target on your account for VRC to act upon.

    @EricZhou

    No problem !
    I actually happened to figure all this out through trial and error (yes, that includes deleting the Worlds folder and seeing what would happen in the Quick Launcher following it)
    Down to the naming of the world file, the standard format (as a matter of fact, scene-Android-something.vrcw is also a format for Quest worlds) and how you can basically have as many as you want in there with various names and they will all show in the list
    and mostly, how those files and the __data world files are both bundles alike, just named differently (but to be also careful to not confuse __data files that are ".vrca" files, which are avatar bundles, and the ".vrcw" files which are world bundles

    Though, I do thank you still, for you have taught me that "ba" and "b9" folder namings have different meanings (new vs old), which I wasn't aware of. Would had helped me in my earlier search of the MMD world file if I had known haha

    @EricZhou

    A simple answer to a simple query. I explained it in ny own post, if that "Worlds" folder doesn't exists, then create it.
    As for the scene file, you don't create it, you literally already have it (That's what __data file is, just renamed)
    You don't need to have anything pre-created, you just rename a file and follow the instructions, the VRC Quick Launcher will work all the same because it does not care about Unity projects at all or built worlds, it only cares if the "Worlds" folder exists (which enables Local option in Instance Info) and if that folder contains a file it can read. (in this case: scene-StandaloneWindows64-somethinghere.vrcw, where "somethinghere" is whatever name will show up in the selection window in the VRC Quick Launcher

    My own post explains all that, and provides users with a file pre-named and ready to be placed in said Worlds folder, plain and simple.

    The whole Unity/Build World steps are reduntant.

    @EricZhou

    Thank you so much !
    If that's okay with you, could I add this file to the other post ?

    Wait, scratch that you actually made a new post xD
    I added it to the Q/A section

    Also, the user does not need to create a new "built" world, or replace any existing files to load the world, or even have Unity installed. They only need to have a valid "scene-StandaloneWindows64-somethinghere.vrcw" at C:\Users\UsernameHere\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\VRChat\Worlds\ to work.

    That scene file being the world file (__data) itself, but renamed, since both are just bundles

    @EricZhou

    Bless you if you upload the old world file. Perhaps I could put it in the other post and mention you as a thank.

    (And as for the shader, it's what I was trying to explain, glad to know it's not just me, I'd be very concerned if a cache file that has not been tempered with ended up still corrupted somehow. This mistake is the world itself, which Iris did when they overhauled the world, and since it's very unlikely it will ever be brought back up, it will probably never get fixed.)

    @Just-a-Dude

    World data files don't get split. Every individual worlds has its own unique __data file (unless an update occured, then they are differing versions)
    The oldest __data from a world which has updated is removed eventually from the cache to save on space.
    Such is the reason why I no longer have the old iY MMD World file since I had the newest update downloaded and VRChat client considered the old world file reduntant.

    @Just-a-Dude

    The file I provided and the second pic in the demo you see there are the exact same, minus the older variant (first pic) of the world which I do not have. The shader "issues" that you are pointing out are exactly as the world was when it was on VRC if you've been to that world right before it got taken down

    If you think it's broken, then, blame Iris Alias for actually making it that way in the most recent world update.
    (This work of shader is also called Post Processing, they must have mistakenly made the surfaces reflective for stages that shouldn't had them. I too am not fond of how it turned out and I wish I had the prior version before the overhaul)

    The file I shared is the one right before it got taken down, what you see is how the latest update was. Apologies, I do not have the prior world update which has better lighting, but if someone has its __data file, feel free to share !

    Make sure Creator Companion is up to date. If need be, redownload it from the VRChat website and then try relaunching the VRC Quick Launcher

    (Also make sure the world is properly placed in the Worlds folder as indicated in the first post)

    Your VRChat executable path is completely empty, you need to point it to your VRChat installation.

    Click on "Browse" and locate VRChat.exe

    Following the deletion of iY MMD World from VRChat by its creator due to drama, here is the link to the latest update's world file, and how to load it up locally in Offline Testing mode.

    Link Preview Image
    Proton Drive

    Securely store, share, and access your important files and photos. Anytime, anywhere.

    favicon

    (drive.proton.me)

    1. Download the world file from the Proton link and place it in "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\VRChat\Worlds" (If AppData is not visible: In File Explorer, click on View, then Show, and select Hidden Items, also if the "Worlds" folder doesn't exists, create it.).
    2. Make sure VRChat Creator Companion is installed, is up to date, and open it.
    3. Click on Tools at the top left, then launch "VRC Quick Launcher".
    4. In VRC Quick Launcher, ensure the path to the VRChat executable is correct. If missing, click "Browse" and find VRChat.exe on your computer.
    5. Go to the Instance info section, and select "Local", then select the world file.
    6. In Profiles section, click on "Add Profile" (it will be Profile 0), and make sure the checkbox on the left is checked.
    7. Press "Launch all selected" and enjoy.

    Q: Can I join other Worlds and People or them join me while in Testing Mode ?
    A: No, you cannot join other Worlds or People or be joined in Testing Mode, since you're basically Offline.

    Q: Can I upload this world to VRChat ?
    A: I do not know how, and I do not encourage it either. By attempting to do so, you put yourself at risk of being banned.

    Q: Help ! The "Local" option in VRC Quick Launcher doesn't appear !
    A: VRC Quick Launcher's Local Instance option relies on "Worlds" folder in C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\VRChat, it checks at launch to see if it exists and enables "Local" option when found.

    Q: Why "scene-StandaloneWindows64-namehere.vrcw" ?
    A: That is the standard naming format for the VRC Quick Launcher to display the world in the list. You can set "namehere" to whatever you want, it will appear as such in the list. and yes that file is just the __data world file itself renamed. No, you don't need to have an existing world built in Unity.

    Q: Help ! The world's shaders looks off, did you break them ?!
    A: I touched nothing of the sort, this world I shared is the exact one straight out of my cache which was loaded from VRC servers. If you think it's broken, blame Iris Alias for making it that way in the latest update before it got taken down. And if you think getting someone else's copy of this same update will solve it, I wouldn't count on it.

    Q: Can you provide the old version before the big update ?
    A: See @EricZhou's post (Grab the __data file from the archive and rename it to "scene-StandaloneWindows64-Old_iYMMDWorld.vrcw" without the "" and follow the same instructions as above, or look at the picture in the post for nicer instructions !)

    Q: Help ! The link is asking for a password !
    A: That is a mistake, the link does not actually have a password. However, Ripper.store only showing the embed instead of the full link, and Proton having seemingly broken said embeds, you can fix the issue by adding "#pXZGMVXu1pAl" (without the quotes) at the end of the Proton link. Sorry for the inconvenience.
    PS: Do that in a new tab, I found it does not work if you just paste it in an already opened Proton page.

    I hope this will make it so those who never had a chance to visit that world, or miss going there following the shutdown may enjoy it again.
    Note: This cache copy of iY MMD World was done before VRChat introduced encryption to the cache.
    Newer caches will not be loadable in Offline mode !

    Likewise, I was really bummed when it went down and had heard someone had a way to load it locally, but they never replied back, so I had to do my own trials and errors to find out the __data files and vrcw files are the exact same, just named differently. After that, it was a matter of figuring out if the Quick Launcher could load them, which to my surprise it did.

    Make sure when you rename the file that you can see hidden file extensions in File Explorer.

    1. Open File Explorer (open any folder).
    2. Click the View tab.
    3. Select "File name extension"
    4. Optionally, you can enable Hidden items.
      Filename extensions will now be visible.
