    Bump of the day

Do otters hold hands when they sleep?

Otters are known to hold hands in groups - called a raft - while they eat, sleep and rest, to prevent families losing each other. The furry animals, the largest member of the weasel family, are even known to wrap sea plants around them to secure the bond.

Who has the fastest mile run?

Hicham El Guerrouj is the current men's record holder with his time of 3:43.13, while Svetlana Masterkova has the women's record of 4:12.56. Since 1976, the mile is the only non-metric distance recognized by the IAAF for record purposes.

        Can a pig look up?

Pigs have very short necks so they find it very had to look up at the sky. Remember they also have their eyes at the side of their heads. So now, quick experiment: Scrunch you head down to your shoulders, making your neck as short as possible.

What animal is called the ship of the desert?

Camels are the only animals that can carry heavy loads from place to place in the desert because they can go for long periods without eating or drinking water. A camel's hump doesn't carry water, as some believe. Instead the hump is filled with fat, which is a built-in food supply.

Here's a fact i know off the top of my head.
The distance between the Earth and the Moon is large enough to contain all the other planets in our solar system.
Don't believe me? Look up the distance and the size of each planet and then do the math.

When was the first Simpsons episode made?

The half-hour series premiered on December 17, 1989, with "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", a Christmas special. "Some Enchanted Evening" was the first full-length episode produced, but it did not broadcast until May 1990, as the last episode of the first season, because of animation problems.

What percentage of the world population are left handed?

Left-handedness is less common than right-handedness. Left-handed people are more skillful with their left hands when performing tasks. Studies suggest that approximately 10% of the world population is left-handed. Mixed-handedness is the change of hand preference between tasks.
