Edit: found what might be the only explanation available on the internet: https://forum.ripper.store/post/1659244, which explains that it was basically shut down as revenge, so while I felt slightly bad at first because their Twitter said mental health, it's clearly not that, and i feel no guilt hating this person now. If you try to take down a public avatar, you should have to write a detailed apology explaining why you need to take it down, why you have no other choice, and only if a majority of the active users of that avatar accept the apology should the avatar be actually deleted.
