However, I don't know if it's the link, Unity, or whatever, but you have to import the unity file AFTER the original avatar file is imported even if you do both.
Once you do that, the physbones (the new ones after applying prefab and replacing) have to be remapped so if it appears that they aren't working, it's because they aren't mapped for some reason so go into the physbones and PROPERLY remap the controllers and transformers. One thing I noted is that the breasts need a completely new physbone. Could be just me, but I had to create the physbone and reuse a physbone script to give them interaction-- it wasn't hard to do and has the same desired outcome but it's weird. Hope this helps somebody.
