the way I've been able to view the world as is is with the VRCALoader by Cocokoishi, which loads the world into the hierarchy but doesn't allow me to see the individual parts like if there's animation files or anything like that.

is there a converter or a tutorial I could follow? I tried to look at the one posted on here, but a lot of the links don't work.

thanks for your time!

Is what I tried using for an avatar, doing the same thing as you, for about 3 hours. It was throwing errors that outright could not be thrown, so I have no idea if this helps you, but it sounds like you didn't read the full instructions of "-L" that says it only puts a live copy in active memory, not files into the project.

If you do get it working, PLEASE ping me with the How.
