2. Extract the VRCA using SARS

3. Open SARS.

4. If a “Select Unity Editor” window appears, just cancel it.

5. Go to the VRCA tab.

6. Import your VRCA file.

7. Uncheck Poiyomi shaders (VRCA versions are broken).

8. Click Extract and choose a folder for the output.

3. Set up your Unity project

4. Create a new Unity project using the correct VRChat version.

5. Import your usual essentials:• VRChat SDK
   • Poiyomi or lilToon
   • Any tools you normally use

6. Import the extracted VRCA folder from SARS.

7. Import FACS Utilities.

8. Drag the avatar prefab from the extracted assets into the Scene.

4. Reassign materials using FACS

5. Open the FACS menu in Unity.

6. Go to Avatar Fix → Easy Shader Reassign.

7. Drag the Materials folder from the extracted assets into the slot.

8. Let FACS automatically reassign all materials.

5. Fix animations

6. Select the avatar prefab in the Hierarchy.

7. In the Inspector, find the FX Animator field.

8. Drag the correct FX controller from the extracted assets into the slot.

9. Click Auto Detect.

10. Click Fix to repair animation references.

6. Fix scripts

7. In FACS, open the Script Fixer section.

8. Drag the entire extracted Assets folder into the field.

9. Click Delete Dummy.

10. Click Fix to repair missing scripts and components.

7. Remove broken normal maps (if the avatar looks weird)

VRCA extractions often produce corrupted normal maps that cause:

• Pink textures
• Shiny or bumpy skin
• Strange lighting

To fix it:

1. Open the Texture2D folder.
2. Select all normal maps (pink textures).
3. Delete them.
4. Unity will fall back to flat normals, fixing the shading.

8. Reduce texture sizes (fix lag + crashes)

If the textures are too large (4K/8K), Unity may lag or freeze.

1. Select all textures inside the Texture2D folder.

2. In the Inspector:• Turn Compression ON
   • Set Max Size to 2048 (2K) or 1024 (1K)

3. Apply the changes.
